Opening Locked Door With Hole

This is designed as an emergency way to open interior doors with locks such as a bathroom or bedroom door.

Take the wire and insert it into the hole located in the center of the doorknob. The non locking side of the door should have a small hole likely on the face of the knob. Once the clip is straight position the straight end inside the hole on the outside of the doorknob. Determine the type of lock locks with a round hole in the knob on the opposite side of the locking mechanism usually.

A ballpoint pen filler works. Find something stiff that will slide into the hole. Then push the tip of the paperclip or clothes hanger straight into the hole and try to keep it as straight as possible. Then turn the door knob and shake the pin which should cause the lock to open.

At an inch or so you will feel resistance. Using minimal force push the clip into the hole until you hear a light click or pop sound. Push it straight into the hole. To open a locked bathroom door from the outside place the point of a butter knife into the keyhole if it s a push button lock and turn the knife sideways.

How do you unlock a door with a hole in the knob. Keep pushing hard enough to move the resistance. Turning tab bathroom door locks. A push hole lock features a button on the inside of the door.

When this happens a small button inside the locking mechanism presses against a bar which in turn pops the lock to the unlocked or open position. If you keep it straight you should feel the lock on the other side of the door. Inside is a small button that needs to be pushed to unlock the door. To open a locked interior door with a screwdriver first push the screwdriver as far as you can into the hole on the doorknob.

When you feel the resistance move and hear a click or more of a clunk the door will be open. Then just turn and twist until the screwdriver catches on a groove and the lock clicks open. There is a hole in the outside door knob. Fabricate an appropriate pick for the round hole straighten a wire coat hanger or paper clip to unlock the door.

It s called a privacy lock. You simply need a straight stiff. You re going to need a screwdriver with a skinny rod because the thicker rod won t be able to fit through the hole. If your bathroom door has a button lock from the inside and a little hole on the knob on the outside as seen in the above video then a screwdriver can certainly help you out.

If this doesn t work put a straightened out bobby pin into the lock.
