Oven Preheat Door Locked

Oven preheat door locked.

Allow the cleaning cycle to run for about 60 seconds and then cancel it. The oven door has been locked accidentally if there is food in the oven let the oven cool to room temperature and try to unlatch the door. Is it locked when starting or using the oven. Press cancel off key to start a latch reset wait 20 30 seconds and open door turn the power off at the circuit breaker or fuse box for one minute then turn the power back on.

Clear the lock mechanism as indicated by the door loc light by pressing and holding in the oven door light switch for 20 to 30 seconds. Allow the oven to cool approximately 30 90 minutes move the latch arm to the left to unlock the door. However if the whirlpool oven door is locked and won t open even after a cleaning cycle it s possible the stove s control panel has malfunctioned. If your oven has an auto lock it should only engage during the self clean cycle.

Detach the oven door. Should the oven lock during a bake cycle press the clear off pad and allow the range to cool to room temperature. The door will also lock during the self cleaning cycle and won t unlatch until the temperature inside the oven cools to about 200 degrees fahrenheit. If you suspect that the sensor is at fault you should first remove the power to the oven for a few moments and then reconnect.

If no food or utensils are in the oven start a self clean cycle then hit clear off after 60 seconds. If that does not unlock the door run a short self clean cycle 1 2 hours. Thank you for your inquiry. Saturday from 8 a m.

If you still cannot unlock the door then you can check the oven temperature sensor from the back. Once cool reset it again to your desired baking temperature. If there are screws near the top or front that attach the oven top to the base unscrew them and pull the oven top up. If it s still locked start an oven cleaning cycle.

If you re still not having any luck run the shortest cleaning cycle you can on your oven. This may reset the control and allow you to unlock the door. The oven should unlock. Once inside the oven switch the lock from the inside of the oven.

Sometimes the cleaning process will take over and unlock your oven as it should when cleaning is complete. Remove power again and remove the back panel.
